As a result, we sponsor a range of initiatives ranging from high-school programmes that encourage the pursuit of STEM subjects (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths) to job shadowing, internships and under-graduate courses.

STEM in the classroom

Our employees assist local elementary school teachers with STEM-related (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths) activities designed to pique students' interest and strengthen their involvement in the future of STEM in America.

Midlands Reading Consortium

Employees assist local elementary school teachers with reading activities designed to increase the literacy skills of students.

Job shadowing

Employees' children are invited to spend a day at Prysmian where they learn about the products we make, tour the facilities and meet a range of different professionals.

Lexington High School (Co-Op)

Technology students gain school credit and work experience by working with seasoned professionals at Prysmian for one semester.

Due West, SC Robotics

Staff at our Abbeville, SC location participate in a robotics team with local high school students and attend competitions.

High school juniors take part in a 16 or 18-week internship (totalling 32 hours) for school credit.

North America (College)

University of South Carolina (USC) Internship Programme

Students are assigned an internship project during the semester to gain first-hand knowledge and experience of the work environment.

Georgia Institute of Technology (GA Tech) and Clemson University Co-Op/Internship Programme

Students are assigned an internship project during the semester to gain first-hand industry experience. Co-op students may earn school credits. Two at time between Clemson and GA Tech.[FM2]

Pennsylvania State University (Penn State) Internship Programme

Students are assigned an internship project during the semester that may count for school credit.

University of South Carolina (USC) collaboration

USC professors and their students work with an assigned department to address specific projects and challenges.

Internship Program
A one-year internship programme. Students will be assigned a mentor to foster their professional growth and are expected to present a project at the end of the programme. The standard internship includes a scholarship (depending on the student’s level of English) and a minimum of six-hour workdays.

Location: Prysmian Denmark A/S (Albertslund, Denmark), Rybinskelekrokabel (Rybinsk, Yaroslavl Oblast, Russia), Draka Keila Cables (Keila, Estonia), Prysmian Finland (Pikkala, Oulu)
Eligibility: Bocconi Bachelor of Science students (starting from the end of their second year); Bocconi Master of Science students (starting from the end of their first year); Graduates (within 12 months of graduation)

France - Apprenticeship Program
Around 50 apprentices from across the country will be assigned a tutor and given the chance to develop their skills in an industry setting.

  • Location: All Prysmian Group plants in France
  • Eligibility: French students doing secondary school diplomas, second-year technical or university degrees, masters degrees or attending engineering schools

Spain - Internship Program
Students complete a year in either a business or engineering role.                

  • Location: All Prysmian Group plants in Spain
  • Eligibility: Students of business or engineering schools that offer a placement year as part of their degree course.

High School Co-operation
A dual training model allows students work with seasoned professionals (over either six months or a year) to gain school credits and experience.

  • Eligibility: Students currently enrolled in a high school programme

Italy – Internship Program
It is an opportunity to work side by side with talented professionals of different functions. This period will be a precious occasion for learning and development.

Eligibility: Students currently enrolled at university or recent graduates.

Long-Term Internship Program
Students receive extensive experience across relevant departments, with particular insight into processes.

Apprenticeship Program
Apprenticeships are for a minimum of two years. Apprentices will continue their studies with local colleges one day a week in order to gain both practical and theoretical qualifications.

  • Location: UK-wide
  • Eligibility: Previously enrolled school/college students, with the minimum qualifications for the level of apprenticeship

Placement Student Program (Internship)
Students complete a year in either a business or engineering role. They gain experience by learning on the job and take on more responsibility as the year progresses.
